Why Training at a Licensed ATA School Matters

Choosing a martial arts school is a big decision, and credentials matter. Moberly's is a licensed school of ATA Martial Arts, the organization that has taught Songahm Taekwondo since 1969. For your family, that means:

  • Qualified instructors. Every instructor on our floor has completed ATA instructor training.
  • A proven, structured curriculum. Students learn the same forms, techniques and rank requirements taught at ATA schools nationwide.
  • Rank that travels with you. If your family moves, your belt is recognized at other ATA schools.
  • Real goals to work toward. From local tournaments to state and World Championships, students can test their skills as far as they want to go.

A stand-alone karate school can teach good technique, but students can find their rank isn't recognized anywhere else. With ATA, years of hard work always count.

Chief Master Julie Moberly is an 8th Degree Black Belt and ATA World Champion who serves as Instructor and Program Director. She has also helped lead ATA instructor training on teaching students with special abilities.

More Than Kicks: Life Skills That Last

Parents tell us the biggest changes show up outside the school. Every month our kids classes focus on a character theme, such as goals, perseverance, self-control, confidence, respect and integrity, and students earn Victory Stars for effort at school, at home and in class.

What students build here:

  • Focus that shows up in homework and in the classroom
  • Confidence to speak up, try new things and handle bullies safely
  • Discipline and respect for parents, teachers and themselves
  • Fitness, coordination and flexibility for every age
  • Leadership, as experienced students help lead newer ones
